Barrier-Free Access to the Taunus Thermal Baths

The Taunus Thermal Baths are barrier-free!

We guarantee accessibility according to DIN standard 18024 for wheelchair users and persons who have walking impediments under the following conditions:

  • At the entrance of the car park, which must be closed to access in the evenings beginning at 6 p.m., there is a sign stating that the Taunus Thermal Baths cash desk can be reached with the call button. Then the gate can be opened so  that disabled persons always have the possibility of entering.
  • There are 6 special disabled parking spaces that are subject to the general road traffic regulations. The local Municipal Order Office checks on a regular basis to make sure that these spaces are really just used by disabled persons with the corresponding ID and the designation "G."
  • Disabled persons can now access the automatic entrance with their wheelchairs without having to climb steps. Next to the price board in front of the entrance, the guest is informed that a stairlift is available for the use of the sauna areas.
  • Instead of using the turnstile, disabled persons can enter through an extra-wide door at the cash desk.
  • Wheelchair users can reach the special changing cubicle directly without encountering steps. Four extra-wide lockers are available here. The shower for disabled persons, a special toilet facility and a sink are also here. For the sake of safety, walkers and an in-house wheelchair are available. However, the guest is permitted to use his/her own wheelchair with appropriate disinfection.
  • The thermal area can be used by the guest without having to climb steps. The towel racks can also be reached from a wheelchair.
  • Guests who cannot move by themselves in the thermal pool will be lifted into the pool on a chair with a lifting device by request. The personnel will provide assistance. The lifting device is available for both indoor pools. It is subject to inspections in points of safety on a regular basis.
  • Wheelchair users can reach the sauna area with the help of the personnel and a stairlift. However, use of the individual saunas is not possible with the wheelchair.
  • In order to reach the restaurant, the wheelchair user has to make a detour. If he/she does not want to do this, the ladies from food service will provide support.

Last but not least, we would like to remind you that a severely disabled person with an ID that has a "B" is permitted to have an escort without charge. If the wheelchair user does not have this "B" on his/her ID, the Taunus Thermal Baths will still be accommodating and also permit an escort to accompany the wheelchair user during his/her visit without charge.
